ARTICLE: Mission 4 Project : A Long Diatride -by Kamiya Kaoru (October 17, 2000)

INTRODUCTION

I have long  been asked to write my views on Mission 4 Project. I first thought it was a monumental stage in RS Promotions’ music history.  Four hot guys from all respective genres of music RS offered in one album playing their own instruments? Wow!

Finals and an almost week-long flu might not be a sufficient enough explanation for the delays but an uneasineness with writing anything regarding this album. These four guys have massive following and I must be careful in my words for I would be stepping on a lot of fans' toes.

Why? From listening to almost half of the album and looking at the song distribution, my interpretations are anything but glowing. In order to make the people understand, let me put my analysis within a sociological, psychological, musical perspective grounded on an honest approach on pop culture. Hey, that’s what I like to do and before anyone tries to slag me off, I would like to remind everyone that I know what I am saying and I can definitely back them off.  Besides, one of pop culture’s traits is the focus on common beliefs and values. I believe Mission 4 Project, like any project of any recording company, focuses on a common value. After all, its not called “music business" for nothing.

To aid you in this discussion, I divided it into 4 sections. Every section is accesible through a menu at the right side.

I hope this discussion enlightens everyone.
