FIBROMYALGIA (FMS)
CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME (CFS)

Fibromyalgia, pronounced (FI-BRO-MY-AL-JA), in his Fibromyalgia Handbook, Harris McIlwain says that Fibromyalgia with its deep muscle pain, disturbed sleep, and feelings of depression, affects more than 10 million Americans with 90% being women forty years and older. Research has shown that the illness can start in childhood or teenage years, especially with girls, and gradually worsens with age. Most often people have stories of traveling from doctor to doctor in search of a diagnosis. It is not unusual for this process to take years before an accurate diagnosis is made. Although it is commonly misdiagnosed illness, it is also a misunderstood illness. It is the most common arthritis-related disease next to osteoarthritis.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
Some of the more common symptoms are:
Pain
Fatigue
Morning stiffness
Anxiety
Difficulty concentrating
Headaches
Depression
Painful menstrual cramps
Irritable bowel syndrome
Discoloration of hands and feet (Raynauds phenomenon)restless leg syndrome
dry nose, eyes, and mouth
Sleep disturbances
urinary urgency and frequency

The absolute cause is unknown and there is NO cure.
However, research in this decade has shown that

At present, a blood test cannot diagnose FM.
FIBROMYALGIA: MY STORY
I consider life a journey, from birth to death, we are faced with trials and tribulations for higher learning. Contrary to what others may believe, my greatest challenge has been living with a chronic illness. Whatever the name, I needed to know exactly what I was dealing with, in order to move to the next step.
Do you wake up in the moring feeling like a mack truck has hit you, and then rolled back over you, and then the truck decided to get you again on the blind side? If you do, then you must have fibromyalgia, any of the related disorders, or chronic pain.
It is my goal, that this site will provide some sort of hope, a beginning to your healing. You must strive to change this disease from something disabling, to something manageable. Thinking of it as "disabing" instills this mentality. Fibromyalgia and carries with it, a high cost of anxiety. It carries with it a sentence that things will never get bet6er. It can make you feel broken, expecially when you're in constant pain, fatigue, and immobility. It also, carries with it the "I don't deserve anything better attitude", and after all who cares.
First of all, my God, the God of Abraham, cares.
And, in the midst of all the brokenness, you can feel whole again. Will I be the same as I used to be? It has taken me years to know the answer to this. When God healed me of depression, He said, "why would you want to be the old person anyway?
