I liked your page about contraceptives. Let me tell you my story. I was born and raised in Gozo, having fled when I was 16 yeas old, that's 11 years ago, because I could not spend the rest of my life being dictated what to do by the tyrannical Catholic ch rch, I have despised it ever since and have in fact renounced its teachings. I AM PROUD TO SAY I AM NO LONGER A CATHOLIC AND NOT EVEN A CHRISTIAN. From a young age I always knew that I would not want to ever have children and anyone who forbids me my free om and forces me into something I do not want to do is in my opinion abusing my rights as a human being, which is classed as a crime against humanity. In any other country this treatment would be classed as abuse of human rights that warrants punishment. wanted a high profile career and wanted to stay single all my life. According to the Catholic church I was a sinner and an evil doer for having these beliefs. that's the reason I fled Malta because I wanted to be free to do whatever I wanted to do and li e my life. My advice is: It's time that all people in Malta opened their eyes, Catholocism is long gone by its sell by date. Wake up to reality and start living your life. Rebel if you have to. YOUR LIFE IS YOURS TO DO AS YOU PLEASE. WHO THE HECK IS THE C URCH TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO? Would the priest abd archbishop come to feed you when you're hungry? would they come and feed your dozen kids? NO, THEY WILL LEAVE YOU AND WHEN YOU DIE THEY WILL COME TO TAKE ALL YOUR BELONGINGS FOR THEIR SELFISH INTENTS. that is reality. The church should stop sticking its nose where it is not wanted. They should concentrate more about doing smething to stop all the wars and hatred and genocides of the world and help the starving in poor nations. CONTRACEPTION IS YOUR RIGHT - O NOT LET IT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU. Finally, Malta would be a much better place if the people were free and did not let themselves be domintated by any form of religious influence and be open to all other beliefs.

Hi webmaster, In my opinion you are not well informed. It is granted that the PN administration was not perfect, but at least it never deceived the electorate. The present administration promised to lower the cost of living. Instead it increased taxes, car insurance and licences, petrol, cigarettes, spirits and many more. Water and electricity rateshave doubled. The Present Administration was scandalised because the PN in government increased the National Debt. On the other hand, in 18 months , the present Govern ent made over $900 million in Debt. The business sector was promised a "Nifs Gdid", instead they got the shit... business is very very slow. Students were deprived of their Stipend at University, consequently, a big burden on the families. Many workers were deprived the extra allowances or overtime at their place of work. Hence less money to spend. On the other hand , the Labour Party was given Huge areas of Land for their Party funds, by the present administration, land worth about $10 million. And so many more, What is in the pipeline. 300 Telemalta workers will have to loose their jobs, also 300 shipbuilding workers will follow suit. We were promised NIFS GDID - AHJAR ASHTMA IL METALFOND FALLIET - ISSA MALTA?????

I'm really glad to see somebody take a real initiative in re-building the old Opera House. I was born (1947) and raised in Zabbar and emigrated to Canada at the age of 16 in 1963. I have returned to Malta many times and have always hoped that some day one of the real jewels Malta lost during the war would be rebuilt. I believe initiatives such as yours could only help make it happen, hopefully during my lifetime!
