More About the USS Tempest

Together, the Tempest and the 100th Marine Strike Group participate in and organize STAR TREK role playing games, both live-action and on the web.

Paintball!

Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we host live-action STAR TREK paintball week-ends. Held in the Pocano Mountains, we began renting townhouses for the sake of convenience but the post-paintball hot-tub party has become an integral part of the event. We play paintball during the day then in the evening we relax in the hot tubs with our fellow STAR TREK and paintball fans. The next game will be held 5 May 2001. Conventions!

Every year we attend several STAR TREK/SCI-FI conventions.

The latest addition to our list is I-Con. The USS Tempest, once again will run her LARPs in her usual outstanding fashion. I-Con will be held March 30 to April 1, 2001

We dress-up in the Masquerade, listen to the guest speakers, spend far too much money in the dealer's rooms but mostly we decorate the Bar with our presence and enjoy the 10-Forward and Pirate parties.

For some conventions, such as Chiller and Horror-Con, members of the 100th MSG participates in providing convention security.

The fan run Shore Leave is the largest Trek Convention we regularly attend. This year, once again, a major portion of the Tempest and the 100th attended and we had a blast.
