ABOUT THE WORK

The firm has been specializing in restoration of heritage buildings and tourism related
areas. Typically this involves not just core design, but also planning issues. Many of the
works have been in Rajasthan, Punjab and Jharkhand. Notable among them are:

1. At Neemrana and around.
- Fort Palace: Survey drawings in 1992 and swimming pool in 2001.
- Baoli restoration at the village under the Rural Tourism Scheme of
Government of India.
- Swimming Pool at Ibrahim Kothi, Pataudi Palace, 2006.

2. At Patiala
Retro-fitting Rajindra Kothi at Baradari Gardens in heritage style to use as a 16
room hotel for Neemrana Hotels Pvt. Ltd. About 750m away, renovating another
old building for use as Yadavendra Officers Institute.

3. At Shekhawati / Jhalawar / Karauli
Preparation of project profiles for 18 heritage and Rural Tourism destinations with
PDCOR Ltd. Jaipur for Department of Tourism, Rajasthan. The destinations
included Fatehpur, Nawalgarh, Dundlod, Alsisar, Malsisar, Ratangarh in
Shekhavati, Kolvi in Jhalawar, Timangarh in Karauli.

Our recommendations amongst other have been about creation of heritage / tourism
zones with emphasis on:
- Zero emission zones.
- Total waste management.
- Architectural control guidelines.
- Town planning initiatives to preserve the fabric of the heritage zone.
- Traffic Management.
- Drainage system.
- Creating wayside amenities for tourists.
We specialize in
1. Restoration and retro-fitting of heritage buildings and their adaptive re-use as
hotels / guest houses / clubs / Schools etc.
2. Working on 3D renderings for contemporary projects to create aesthetic appeal
above par and deliver project complete at planning stage itself.
3. Issues related to Tourism and Heritage.

In our works, we practice and promote eco-friendly architecture - this typically incorporates
recycling technologies, rain-water harvesting, efficient use of materials, optimum use of natural
and artificial lighting, passive climate control etc. Till 2005, the projects handled were primarily in
the realm of architectural and interior design and restoration. However with infrastructure
development getting a boost from Government, firm has expanded its services and team to
include planning.

ABOUT THE PEOPLE

Sandeep Subhash – Chief Architect, B.Arch (1993), S.P.A. New Delhi.
Sandeep Subhash is passionate about old buildings and traditional building forms. He has
toured Rajasthan extensively in last 15 years. Apart from professional practice, he is a
visiting faculty at Department of Physical Planning, School of Planning and Architecture,
IP Estate, New Delhi.

Rekha Jindal – M.Arch, Architectural Conservation (1989), S.P.A. New Delhi.
Rekha Jindal, working with our firm since 2004 coordinates the restoration projects.

Sangeeta Nigam – B.Arch, (1993), working since 2005. Looks after the projects
coordination, drafting section, vendor and material sourcing.
