My Patriotic Page
I am, and always have been, proud to be an American and for that I make no apologies.
I still cross my heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance unashamedly.
My heart bursts with pride when Old Glory is raised or passes me on the street during a parade.
I never fail to get misty-eyed when I hear The Star-Spangled Banner or God Bless America.
Since the terrible events of September 11, 2001, I have watched my fellow Americans reach a level of
national pride that hasn't been seen since World War II.
While I am gratified to see everyone pulling together as a nation,
it does sadden me that it took a heinous act of this proportion to achieve that end.
Hopefully, we as Americans, will hold fast to this feeling of brotherhood and unity that has sprung from the very ashes of terrorism.
Let us send a message to every nation on earth that Americans refuse to live in fear.
We will not sacrifice our freedoms for which so many of countrymen have fought and died.
God Bless the United States of America.
