Mount
Rainier
Mount Rainier is the highest volcanic peak in the Cascades, a
mountain range that stretches from British Columbia in Canada to northern California. It
was formed by many years of volcanic activity.
Paradise : is world-famous for its glorious views and wildflower meadows. |

Seattle
 |
Space Needle : is a 605 foot
tower and has the best view in town.

Mount
St. Helens
On May 18, 1980, the long-dormant Mount St. Helens erupted.
Shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, the north face of the mountain
collapsed in a massive avalanche of rock debris. The eruption lasted nine hours. Within
the monument's bounds, the environment is left to respone naturally to the disturbance.
