Hobbies: Salsa and flamenco dancing, playing piano, shopping, eating (KFC, ice cream, chocolate, gummibears...), reading books (John Steinbeck...), listening to music (Tom Jones, Portishead, jazz, samba, classical music...), watching her favorite movies (all those with Audrey Hepburn, The Wizard of Oz...), mountain climbing, working around her house, surfing the internet, having fun with her friends... Mini-biography: Born
in a Virginia suburb of Washington, DC to German opera
singer Helga Meyer and American voice teacher John
Bullock, she grew up on the road with her parents and
younger sister Gesine. She would often perform in the
children's chorus of whatever production her mother was
in. That singing talent would later come in use for her
role of an aspiring country singer in "The Thing
Called Love" (1993). Her family moved back from
Germany to the Washington, DC area when she was a
teenager. She graduated from Washington-Lee High School
in Arlington, Virginia, USA in 1982. She later enrolled
in East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina,
USA where she studied acting. Shortly thereafter she
moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage. This
led to acting in television programs and then feature
films. She gave memorable performances in "Demolition
Man" (1993) and "Wrestling Ernest Hemingway"
(1993) but did not achieve the stardom that seemed
inevitable for her until her work in the smash hit "Speed"
(1994). She now ranks as one of the most popular
actresses in Hollywood. Biography info is from Internet Movie Database (Sandra Bullock Bio) Awards and nominations: Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia,
