This is my shop (read cellar) where I would spend all of my free time if it wasn't for my wife and 2 kids! I do get to spend "some" time here thanks to my wonderful wife who understands my creative needs. But, because of the location I can only use the loud tools (i.e. table saw, router etc.) when the kids are awake, luckily the Lathe, Drill Press and Band Saw are relatively quiet so I can use them when the kids are sleeping.
Looking towards the back of the shop, Drill Press and Table Saw
Front view, band Saw and Storage racks
Side view, Turning center and more storage racks
This was my first project, modified from a Norm Abrams design. The height matches my Table Saw and the table surface is removable so it easy to change when it gets worn out.
I've just moved to a new house with a large empty basement so stay tuned to this site to see what becomes of it. Any suggestions as to what I should do with the space or what mistakes to avoid when designing a shop will be greatly appreciated. Please E-mail me with your comments
