What can I say?? Flash really is the busiest Sheltie kid around!! There is never a dull moment with him in the house.

When Sunshine was nearing his retirement in agility, we decided it was time to find another pup to start training. We wanted a pup that had some of the same bloodlines as Jazz, so Flash was a good choice since his sire and dam are both 1/2 siblings to Jazz! Flash was born in Calgary, Canada at Shelgrande Shelties on January 31, 2002. His dam is co-owned by Shelgrande Shelties and Sunnyvale Shelties in Mesa, AZ.

Folks call him "Flash", but his true call name is "FlashOver", a term that my brother David helped us come up with to reflect the fact that Flash's registered name is "Backdraft" after David who is a Volunteer Fireman in North Carolina. One of these days, Uncle David will have to take Flash for a ride on his fire truck -- and something tells me that Flash will want to run the siren!!

Flash started his agility training as a puppy and he just LOVED it! This dog is so willing to please, so attentive. He is definitely the easiet dog I've ever trained and he learned so quickly. And yes, he does "flash over" those jumps.

Regretfully, Flash is suffering from a chronic injury to his left rear foot, as well as some type of auto immune problem that affects his kidneys, thyroid, liver, and joints. We decided that perhaps rally obedience would be better for him than all that jumping, weaving and twisting in agility. I hope to start training him for rally in late spring 2006.
