Wow! It seems like just yesterday I was getting out of school for the summer. I have to be honest, this summer hasn't been quite as exciting as I thought it would be. My dad and I had planned to go on a camping trip last week, but as it turned out he had to go out of town for work. Brian and Jaime have kept me pretty busy, though. I work at their store evenings, sweeping the floors and helping them out with the 'zine.

Speaking of the 'zine, I'm happy with the way it has turned out so far. When Brian and Jaime first told me about it I was excited, but then I kind of lost interest after I blew up the scanner. That was until they showed me what it looked like. I especially like the picture they took of our street. I don't know a lot about this HTML stuff (that's the computer language they use to make web pages), but I'm learning about it all slowly but surely. Next month I'm going to write some of the tricks I've learned to help you out with your own page.

Like I said before, it's been a pretty boring summer. Hot, too. I've been begging my neighbor, Clarice to let me use her pool, but she always seems to have better things to do. So, I've been spending a lot of time on the internet. I thought it'd be nice to share some of my favorite web sites with you, just in case you run into a boring day and your best friend won't let you use her pool (of course this is my most favorite, but there are some others that are just a fun!).

Hercules

My most favorite site of the summer has to be the page Disney did for the Hercules movie. I haven't even seen the movie yet, but this site is tons of fun. There's a lot of funny pictures, made up articles and even some cool shockwave games that you can play online! Every time I end up here, I usually forget what time it is and my mom has to yell at me to eat dinner.

pirates!Another really neat page is this National Geographic Pirate page. I've always thought pirates were pretty neat, the way they'd commit themselves to adventures on the high seas. At this site, you can learn all about real life pirates, as well as play a cool game where you go on different pirate adventures collecting treasure.

Bonus.Com is a great page with a whole lot to offer on a boring, sweltering afternoon. It has tons of links, games, and it even changes your browser to look like a new one! Brian told me this page gives him some trouble on his power book, but it works great for me!

cyberkidsThis last page may seem pretty boring at times, but I like it because it has lots of stories written by kids my age. The site is called Cyberkids, and it contains two e-zines. Although the only difference I see between me and a teenager (like Clarice's big sister) is that teenagers have pimples and whine more, there's one 'zine dedicated to them, and one to us less intelligent little kids. Just because I'm 11 doesn't mean I can't be cynical, too.

Well, hopefully the rest of my summer won't have me passing on more internet links to you when I have to write my next column. If you want to send me e-mail, please do so. My e-mail address is yowzer@geocities.com. I hope the rest of your summer goes well. I think I'm going to try to badger Clarice into letting me go swimming some more...
