Portland Pirates

On September 25, 1998, Casey was assigned to the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League.
The Pirates started their training camp on Mon. Sept. 28.

Exhibition Game: 9/30/98 Portland 3 - Saint John 4 (OT)
Casey scored 1 goal in the overtime loss and had this to say after the game--''It really wasn't that bad considering we've only been together a couple of days,'' said Hankinson, a Chicago Blackhawks prospect. ''Obviously any time you go out you want to win the game. But it was important to get our feet wet and get used to the guys.''

Casey will be wearing #19 and playing at left wing for the Pirates who began regular season play on Oct. 9 with a 5-4 loss against Lowell. Casey scored his first goal of the season.
