Casey J. Hankinson
Birthdate: May 8, 1976


Parents: John and Bonnie Hankinson
Casey's dad was a quarterback for the University of Minnesota in 1964 and 1965. His mom was a Gopher cheerleader.
Siblings: Two older brothers, Peter and Ben. Both played hockey at the University of Minnesota. Peter played from 1986-1990 and Ben 1987-1991.All In the Family The Tradition continues

Highschool: Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota. Casey graduated in 1994. During high school he participated in hockey and baseball.

College: University of Minnesota 1994-98. Casey was a two-time captain and four-time letter winner while at Minnesota. Majored in pre-speech communications.

How old were you when you started skating? 2 years old in backyard rink.
When you started playing hockey? 5
Who were your biggest role models? My brothers Peter and Ben

Comments/highlights/memories from your years playing pee wee's, squirts, etc.Just had a great time with friends and had great coaches. Probably the greatest time I've had in all of hockey were games in my backyard with all of my buddies.

Highlights/disappointments/memories from your highschool years?Only disappointment was not making it to the state tournament in hockey.

What was the biggest factor in your decision to play at the U of M?Family, location, and how well respected the program is throughout the country.
Why did you decide on hockey over baseball?Hockey is more exciting, especially with 10,000 fans behind you at Mariucci Arena.
Your biggest highlight at the U?Biggest highlight besides meeting so many great people was playing in the NCAA Final Four in Providence.
Biggest disappointmentOnly going to the Final Four once and no national championship.
What was your favorite place to play in the WCHA? Rink- Duluth, Town-Madison.

Is there anywhere that you have always wanted to go? Sweden

Who is the coolest person you have ever met and why? Arnold Palmer. Such a legend, but is such a humanitarian.
If you could meet anyone from the past or present who would it be and why? Abe Lincoln. I would like to see how he invisioned the world.

Your hobbies other than hockey? Golf, guitar.
What would you like to do after hockey? Either something involved in real estate or broadcast communications.
