Kubla Khan
In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round:
And here were gardens bright with sinuous rills
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething,
As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing,
A mighty fountain momently was forced;
Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst
Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail,
Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail:
And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever
It flung up momently the sacred river.
Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean:
And 'mid this tumult Kubla heard from far
Ancestral voices prophesying war!
The shadow of the dome of pleasure
Floated midway on the waves:
Where was heard the mingled measure
From the fountain and the caves.
It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!
A damsel with a dulcimer
In a vision once I saw:
It was an Abyssinian maid,
And on her dulcimer she played,
Singing of Mount Abora.
Could I revive within me
Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight 't would win me
That with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome! those caves of ice!
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry, Beware! Beware!
His flashing eyes, his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

I've loved Science Fiction and Fantasy anything since I was a kid. I grew up on Star Trek and Dr. Who with my mom and
my uncle and my grandpa. I like to look at artwork (although I can't draw at all), read books, watch television and movies,
and generally keep up to date on what's going on out there.
Most recently, my favorite show is the new Sci-Fi Channel series 'The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne' - I
think the show is outstanding! I love every second of it, and was hopelessly addicted within minutes of the beginning
of the first episode.
Sci-fi and Fantasy Artwork
I have nothing but the utmost respect for people with the talent for artwork.
I am unable (in my own laughing terms) to draw a straight line, even with help! Despite my lack of talent, I do enjoy to look
at art, and appreciate it on many levels.

Sci-fi and Fantasy News
It's always important to keep up with the news, and science-fiction is no exception to
the rule. Thankfully news in the sci-fi world isn't quite as depressing as the evening news. These are great places to keep
up on news about upcoming movies, keeping track of books and authors, and in general, anything sci-fi and / or fantasy.

Television Shows
Buffy, The Vampire Slayer
I've always had a thing for vampire shows on television. I can't really explain why, as
I don't enjoy reading these kind of books. But I've been a hopeless Buffy addict since I first watched the show (at the urging of my
brother. Thanks, bro!!).
Dark Shadows
The only soap opera I watch, I adore this series. Vampires, werewolves, witches, gypsies,
evil spirits, ghosts, time travel.. this has everything in one show! Every so often too, you can see little "flubs" in the
tapes - characters off screen reflected in a mirror, missed or mangled lines.. it's great!
Earth: Final Conflict
I've enjoyed this series, although since it's only aired on weekends, it becomes a little
difficult to follow sometimes, especially in the nicer weather when being outside takes precendence, and when I come back to the show
several weeks (and new episodes) later, so much has changed, it's almost a new series. However I like it enough to keep watching it
anyway!
Farscape
I've been following Farscape since close to the beginning of the series. It's a lot of
fun, the crazy adventures they get into. It's become part of my Friday evening ritual. Sci-Friday as I call it, usually involves crashing
on the couch and watching sci-fi all evening. I love it!
Space: Above and Beyond
I was very disappointed when they cancelled this series! I thin it never got the attention
it deserved. I love the aliens in this show, and the struggle they had to try and understand their minds, and plans. I wish there were
more new episodes of this show!!
Stargate SG-1
I don't know how it is that I missed this movie in the theaters, but I did. I remember seeing
it on video at a friend's house and going out within a few days to buy a copy. I was thrilled when they created the series based on the
movie.
