He married Shirley Virginia Poole abt. 1948. Shirley was born Knox County, Illinois Aug. 14, 1927. Shirley was the daughter of Benjamin Ira Pool and Anna Belle McCullough. At 24 years of age Shirley became the mother of David Wayne Shumaker Galesburg, Illinois, July 24, 1952. At 28 years of age Shirley became the mother of Barbara Jo Shumaker Galesburg, Illinois, June 24, 1956.

At 22 years of age Paul became the father of David Wayne Shumaker Galesburg, Illinois, July 24, 1952. At 26 years of age Paul became the father of Barbara Jo Shumaker Galesburg, Illinois, June 24, 1956.

Paul Shumaker and Shirley Virginia Poole had the following children:

2 i. David Wayne² Shumaker was born Galesburg, Illinois July 24, 1952. He married Sue Swearingen Dec. 31, 1996. Sue was the daughter of Cecil Swearingen and Pauline Unknown.

3 ii. Barbara Jo Shumaker⁽²⁷²⁾ was born Galesburg, Illinois June 24, 1956. Barbara died July 1, 1994 Hot Springs, Arkansas, at 38 years of age. Her body was interred aft. July 1, 1994 Hot Springs, Arkansas, Crestview Cemetery. She married Mikel McCullough. Mikel was born Germany.
