He married Amanda Bell Mathis Pontotoc, Pontotoc County, Mississippi, Dec. 23, 1892. Amanda was born Chickasaw County, Mississippi March 10, 1873. Amanda was the daughter of William Melton Mathis and Lucinda Pamela Charlotte Bussa. Amanda died May 25, 1944 Calhoun County, Mississippi, at 71 years of age. Her body was interred aft. May 25, 1944 Pittsboro, Calhoun County, Mississippi, Old Town Cemetery. At 20 years of age Amanda became the mother of Ballard Harmon Pontotoc, Pontotoc County, Mississippi, Feb. 1894. Jimmie was born Slate Springs, Calhoun County, Mississippi Jan. 5, 1920.
