1. Charles Lenard¹ DeMott was born Smithville, Illinois Jan. 6, 1908. Charles died Oct. 23, 1974 at 66 years of age. His body was interred aft. Oct. 23, 1974 Lewistown, Illinois, Providence Cemetery.

He married Jessie Helen McCullough Lewistown, Illinois, June 30, 1930. Jessie was born Nov. 27, 1907. Jessie was the daughter of John Lewis McCullough and Mary Catherine Pool. Jessie died July 6, 2002 Canton, Illinois, at 94 years of age. At 23 years of age Jessie became the mother of Berl Eugene DeMotte Abingdon, Illinois, March 4, 1931. At 24 years of age Jessie became the mother of George Lenard DeMott Abingdon, Illinois, April 17, 1932. At 27 years of age Jessie became the mother of Barbara JoAnn DeMott Abingdon, Illinois, July 8, 1935. At 29 years of age Jessie became the mother of Donald Paul DeMotte Lewistown, Illinois, Feb. 26, 1937. At 31 years of age Jessie became the mother of John Kenneth DeMotte Lewistown, Illinois, Sept. 26, 1939. At 34 years of age Jessie became the mother of Gary Dale DeMott Lewistown, Illinois, July 24, 1942. At 34 years of age Jessie became the mother of Larry Frank DeMott Lewistown, Illinois, July 24, 1942. At 37 years of age Jessie became the mother of Jeane Lavon DeMott Lewistown, Illinois, Nov. 28, 1944.

At 23 years of age Charles became the father of Berl Eugene DeMotte Abingdon, Illinois, March 4, 1931. At 24 years of age Charles became the father of George Lenard DeMott Abingdon, Illinois, April 17, 1932. At 27 years of age Charles became the father of Barbara JoAnn DeMott Abingdon, Illinois, July 8, 1935. At 29 years of age Charles became the father of Donald Paul DeMotte Lewistown, Illinois, Feb. 26, 1937. At 31 years of age Charles became the father of John Kenneth DeMotte Lewistown, Illinois, Sept. 26, 1939. At 34 years of age Charles became the father of Gary Dale DeMott Lewistown, Illinois, July 24, 1942. At 34 years of age Charles became the father of Larry Frank DeMott Lewistown, Illinois, July 24, 1942. At 36 years of age Charles became the father of Jeane Lavon DeMott Lewistown, Illinois, Nov. 28, 1944.

Charles Lenard DeMott and Jessie Helen McCullough had the following children:

4 iii. Barbara JoAnn DeMott was born Abingdon, Illinois July 8, 1935. She married Richard Franklin Sherwood June 6, 1953. Richard was born St. Augustine Sept. 22, 1929. Richard died March 30, 1991 at 61 years of age. His body was interred aft. March 30, 1991 Lewistown, Illinois, Providence Cemetery. At 24 years of age Richard became the father of Paula Beth Sherwood Canton, Illinois, April 21, 1954. At 27 years of age Richard became the father of Kathy Lynn Sherwood Canton, Illinois, Aug. 13, 1957. (See Richard Franklin Sherwood for the continuation of this line.)

At 18 years of age Barbara became the mother of Paula Beth Sherwood Canton, Illinois, April 21, 1954. At 22 years of age Barbara became the mother of Kathy Lynn Sherwood Canton, Illinois, Aug. 13, 1957.

6 v. John Kenneth DeMotte was born Lewistown, Illinois Sept. 26, 1939. He married twice. He married Violet "Vi" Doughtery. He married Nancy Unknown.

+ 7 vi. Gary Dale DeMott was born July 24, 1942.

+ 8 vii. Larry Frank DeMott was born July 24, 1942.

9 viii. Jeane Lavon DeMott was born Lewistown, Illinois Nov. 28, 1944. She married Dick Eugene Seward Lewistown, Illinois, Jan. 7, 1961. Dick was born Lewistown, Illinois Aug. 21, 1942. At 18 years of age Dick became the father of Monica Diane Seward Canton, Illinois, June 29, 1961. At 20 years of age Dick became the father of Bart Wayne Seward Canton, Illinois, March 15, 1963. At 22 years of age Dick became the father of Robert Eugene Seward Canton, Illinois, Feb. 25, 1965. At 27 years of age Dick became the father of Chad Lee Seward Sept. 21, 1969.
