He married Blanche Violet Newkirk 1943. Blanche was born Woodruff, Nebraska June 11, 1905. Blanche⁽⁴⁵⁾ was the daughter of Stonewall Jackson Newkirk and Myrtle Louella Nelson. Blanche died Jan. 17, 1995 Topeka, Kansas, at 89 years of age. Her body was interred aft. Jan. 17, 1995 Topeka, Kansas, Mount Hope Cemetery. At 20 years of age Blanche became the mother of William J. McKim Broken Bow, Nebraska, Oct. 5, 1925. At 35 years of age Blanche became the mother of Michael David McKim Topeka, Kansas, Dec. 9, 1940. At 43 years of age Blanche became the mother of Cathy Virginia Burnau Sept. 10, 1948.

Leslie became the father of Cathy Virginia Burnau Sept. 10, 1948.

Leslie Burnau and Blanche Violet Newkirk had the following children:

2 i. Patrick M.² Burnau. He married Eileen S. Unknown Topeka, Kansas, Aug. 6, 1970.

3 ii. Cathy Virginia Burnau was born Sept. 10, 1948. She married twice. She married Larry Schleuning Sept. 1968. Larry became the father of Marni Schleuning May 7, 1969. (See Larry Schleuning for the continuation of this line.) She married Danel R. Warford Sept. 1975. Danel became the father of Michael Patrick Warford Topeka, Kansas, Nov. 20, 1976. (See Danel R. At 20 years of age Cathy became the mother of Marni Schleuning May 7, 1969. At 28 years of age Cathy became the mother of Michael Patrick Warford Topeka, Kansas, Nov. 20, 1976.
