He married Margaret Hatton. Margaret was born Standish, England Sept. 17, 1648. At 29 years of age Margaret became the mother of Eleanor Ellen Baines Goosnarch, Wyresdale, Lancashire, England, Nov. 22, 1677.

At 27 years of age Mathew became the father of Eleanor Ellen Baines Goosnarch, Wyresdale, Lancashire, England, Nov. 22, 1677.

Mathew Baines and Margaret Hatton had the following child:

2 i. Eleanor Ellen² Baines was born Goosnarch, Wyresdale, Lancashire, England Nov. 22, 1677. Eleanor died Feb. 20, 1744 Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at 66 years of age. She married Thomas Duer Sr. Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Sept. 26, 1694. Thomas was born Devonshire, England Dec. 1663. Thomas was the son of Vincent Dure and Mary Stone. Thomas died Dec. 11, 1709 Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at 45 years of age. At 32 years of age Thomas became the father of Mary Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Oct. 23, 1696. At 34 years of age Thomas became the father of Deborah Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Aug. 13, 1698. At 36 years of age Thomas became the father of John Duer Sr. Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 8, 1700. At 37 years of age Thomas became the father of Thomas Dever Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 7, 1701. At 40 years of age Thomas became the father of Hannah Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 29, 1704. At 41 years of age Thomas became the father of Joseph Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 13, 1705. At 42 years of age Thomas became the father of Ellen Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Feb. 13, 1706. At 43 years of age Thomas became the father of Elizabeth Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 3, 1707. (See Thomas Duer Sr. for the continuation of this line.)

At 18 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Mary Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Oct. 23, 1696. At 20 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Deborah Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Aug. 13, 1698. At 22 years of age Eleanor became the mother of John Duer Sr. Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 8, 1700. At 23 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Thomas Dever Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 7, 1701. At 26 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Hannah Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 29, 1704. At 27 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Joseph Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 13, 1705. At 28 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Ellen Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Feb. 13, 1706. At 29 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Elizabeth Duer Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 3, 1707.
