He married Elizabeth Stratford Wellington, New Zealand, Aug. 6, 1866. Elizabeth was born Wellington, New Zealand March 10, 1848. Elizabeth was the daughter of George Alder Stratford and Mary Ann Hollingshead. Elizabeth died April 1, 1935 Wellington, New Zealand, at 87 years of age. Elizabeth became the mother of Henry Strafford Brown abt. 1867. At 19 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Emma Elizabeth Brown Wellington, New Zealand, Jan. 27, 1868. At 25 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Mary Louisa Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1873. At 36 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Charles Pollard Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1884. At 38 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Howard William Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1886. At 39 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Albert Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1887.

William became the father of Henry Strafford Brown abt. 1867. At 25 years of age William became the father of Emma Elizabeth Brown Wellington, New Zealand, Jan. 27, 1868. At 31 years of age William became the father of Mary Louisa Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1873. At 42 years of age William became the father of Charles Pollard Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1884. At 44 years of age William became the father of Howard William Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1886. At 45 years of age William became the father of Albert Brown Wellington, New Zealand, 1887.

William James Brown and Elizabeth Stratford had the following children:

3 ii. Emma Elizabeth Brown was born Wellington, New Zealand Jan. 27, 1868. Emma died 1936 Auckland, New Zealand, at 68 years of age. She married George Robert Goddard Hamilton East, Waikato, New Zealand, Dec. 16, 1891. George was born Kesington, London, England March 14, 1864. George died 1943 Hamilton East, Waikato, New Zealand.

4 iii. Mary Louisa Brown was born Wellington, New Zealand 1873.

5 iv. Charles Pollard Brown was born Wellington, New Zealand 1884.

6 v. Howard William Brown was born Wellington, New Zealand 1886.

7 vi. Albert Brown was born Wellington, New Zealand 1887.
