Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I've submitted my page to the Ring and I have added the HTML code to my page. However,
when I test the code I am told that my Site ID is not in the Ring. Why?
A. When you submit your site to the Ring, it goes into a database of sites called the
Queue. Before your site can be a fully functional Ring Site, a current Ring Member needs
to approve your site. This error message appears until your site is approved.
Q. I submitted my site ages ago, but my site is still in the Queue. What is going on?
A. As above, your site needs to be approved. This process takes a while because there will be a number of sites ahead of you in the Queue and the Ring Manager goes through sites in order starting with those that were submitted first. If you want to queue jump a bit, you can always e-mail the Ringmaster (with your site Id in the Subject) and ask him to add you to the Ring. Please don't expect to be added the same day, you submit or email.
Q. The URL for my page has changed, but I still want to be a member of the Scouting Webring. How can I change my URL but keep the same Site ID.
A. This is done through the Members Only section of the Website. Choose "Edit Your Site Details" and the rest should become clear. E-mail the Ringmaster if you have any problems.
Q. What if someone in the ring doesn't have the ring graphics, or links that work on their site ?
A. Please advise the Ringmaster of the site Id, it will be checked, and if necessary, (after notification) removed from the ring.
Q. What if a site in the ring is in violation of the Policy ?
A. Please advise the Ringmaster of the site Id, it will be checked, and if necessary, (after notification) removed from the ring.
Q. If I need help, what do I do ?
A. Check the area your having problems with, and if all else fails, Email the Ringmaster.
Q. I Emailed the Ringmaster for help, and it's been more than a few days, now what do I do ?
A. Please be patient, work, school, and family may take precedence.
