Female Voices Early Intervention and Enhancement Program is a intervention
and enhancement program, targeted specifically for pre-adolescent and adolescent females ranging from ages 8 to 18. The goals of this program are to increase awareness in the areas of: Alcohol and Drug abuse, teen pregnancy, high school dropout rates, academic importance, social etiquette, career development, and life management skills. The ultimate goal is to prepare our young ladies to become well-rounded productive individuals who are ready for the world of work or post-secondary education. All of which is done by volunteers and mentors who care!
Who Is Eligible?
If you are a young lady who is desirous of improving and enhancing your quality of life, FVP is for you! There is no criteria, just the willingness to allow yourself to become that young lady you've always dreamed of.
Social Skills Development Activities:
The program is committed to providing a wide range of activities to ensure that these young ladies acquire the skills necessary to make positive decisions about academics, peer pressure, family relationships, community issues and life in general. Activities offered to program participants consist of:
In fostering community and civic responsibility within the girls, the group as a whole are given community service projects to participate in on a monthly basis. The projects consist of:
Adopt-A-Street Program(Wahnish Way), Feeding the Homeless activities, Adopt-A Nursing Home-The Marriners, March of Dimes and United Way Fund-raisers, and many more community projects.

Special Services...
The Program provides the following services for participants: Peer and family counseling, tutoring services, mentoring services, 24 hour emergency call service, teen counseling, vocational & educational services, recreational activities and independent living activities.

In addition, to these activities, various seminars and workshops will be given on the following topics: Substance Abuse & Prevention, Sex/Health Education, Development Skills (Grooming), Peer Pressure, Socials Skills, Teen Pregnancy, Study Skills, Career Development, Business Etiquette, Sorority Education, Computer Training, Juvenile Delinquency, and other topics.
Role Models (Mentors)
Upstanding female citizens within the community are recruited to assist with mentoring and delivery of program services. The mentors communicate with the mentees weekly for progress reports and often make random home and school visits to foster positive reinforcement among the mentors and the girls.
