Without a doubt no “toy” collection is complete without one of these delightfully versatile pieces!! The “SLAPPER”, as we affectionately call it, is composed of two pieces of 9-10oz. premium latigo sewn together about a shaft of spring steel. The strip of spring steel extends from the base of the handle up to about 4-in. from the front where the two straps of leather are allowed to swing free. The steel in the handle provides that “just right” amount of rigidity that allows the Slapper to be lively, but not so stiff that it feels like a club! As you can imagine this rigidity allows the user a level of control that is virtually impossible to get with a whip!!  The two pieces of latigo are specifically chosen to be of different stiffness so that when it is used the two tabs at the business end, which are not sewn together, will swing at different speeds. Because the two ends are moving at different speeds they smack together on impact creating that delightful “slapping” sound that we all love to hear!!!
