What do you like?
Well, I am a simple person with simple needs. Durians, a few games of chess and friends will make my day.
What is your current status?
I am married to a lovely lady who is also a teacher. Children? Still in the planning stages. :-)
How long have you been teaching?
Since 2000
What saddens you?
Whenever I read of people committing all kinds of crimes against one another, I will really boil and pull a long face.
What kind of teaching style do you employ?
This is a difficult question. Like my colleagues, I use Cooperative Learning strategies liberally. Being a visual person, I can understand how difficult it can be for anyone to understand a concept simply reading it off a book. Thus I will bring in stuff that will enhance the lesson. For instance, I brought my lampshade to school to aid in my teaching of moon phases. Huh? You can ask your child what happened in that lesson. They will taught mindmapping skills to help them conceptualise what they learnt in class.
Also, I believe that a happy child is a productive one. Here I have to qualify "happiness". I do not make my children happy by not giving homework or not disciplining them. They are happy because they feel safe in my class, they can enjoy their lessons in an engaging manner, they have many opportunities to speak up everyday, they have opportunities to talk to their friends, to read story books, to hear stories and to play educational games.
