Travelling more than 5,000 miles through 18 States in 2 weeks, we visited New Orleans, Dallas, Memphis, Charlotte and Atlanta to name a few. In 1978 I climbed Mount Errigle in Co. Donegal, Ireland and in
1992 I did a bungy jump in Australia (where I also climbed Ayers Rock). In 1987
I walked across Leichtenstein in one day! Keep on walking... I completed the
Dublin marathon in just over 6 hours 23 minutes (without having trained for it)
in 1997 and the Belfast marathon in 6 hours 45 minutes in 2000. During my youth I travelled to the four corners of the world -
North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. I white water rafted in
Australia, went on safari in Kenya and travelled to Cairo & Luxor to see
the Pyramids and the wonders of ancient Egypt. Other places I have visited
include the White House in Washington DC, the Golden Gate Bridge in San
Francisco, the Grand Canyon, the Houses of Parliament in London, the Colosseum
in Rome, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Berlin Wall, the Sydney Opera House
& the Great Barrier Reef. The most breath-taking sight (excluding the birth
of my son in 1998) was seeing the Statue of Liberty in New York harbour. It was
an experience climbing up the inside of the Statue to the crown.
I have travelled on the magnificent three - Concorde, the QE II
and the Orient Express. In fact, I proposed to my wife on Concorde.
