About Phi Mu Alpha

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a national men's music fraternity, dedicated to advancing music in any way possible and always striving to mold its members into moral, upright men.

The Purposes of Phi Mu Alpha

It shall be the purpose of this Fraternity...
  • To encourage and actively promote the highest standards of creativity, performance, education, and research in music in America.
  • To develop and encourage loyalty to the alma mater
  • To foster the mutual welfare and brotherhood of students of music
  • To develop the truest fraternal spirit among its members, and...
  • To instill in all people an awareness of music's important role in the enrichment of the human spirit.

About Kappa Gamma

The Kappa Gamma Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha, making its home at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, attempts to uphold the ideals of the national fraternity through service projects and musical involvement.
One of our favorite activities is the Mills Music Mission, named for the Fraternity's founder, Ossian E. Mills. The MMM involves going to nursing homes and hospitals and acting like a "glee club" of old... passing around flowers and good cheer to those in need of a song to lift their spirits.
Other projects we've done include fund raisers where the funds were donated to local school music departments, and handstaffing concerts and recitals at Berry. We've also participated in talent showcases at Berry. We're currently looking for other ways to share our love of music with the Berry campus and the Rome community.
