There is no such thing as a simple or insignificant criminal case. Nothing less than your reputation and your future are at stake in every single criminal case, whether a misdemeanor or a felony. A criminal conviction can immediately destroy your reputation and close many doors of opportunity in your life that can never be reopened again.
I represent adult and juvenile clients in both federal and state courts on misdemeanor and felony charges. I represent clients through all phases of the criminal process, and if necessary through trial and appeal. I am often able to negotiate an agreement with the prosecutor that protects the interests of my clients and avoids a criminal conviction and jail time.
Defendants who have retained other counsel and been convicted have retained me for their appeals and for their post-appeal habeas corpus petitions. I have handled expungements for a number of clients
My experience as a federal prosecutor has given me a valuable perspective on the criminal process.
In almost all cases I will personally handle your case and will devote myself to obtaining for you the best possible result. |
I have successfully litigated cases from the state court level to the United States Supreme Court. I am fortunate to have been involved on several occasions with the litigation of significant constitutional issues in federal and state court. I also frequently accept equally interesting but more mundane cases that are just as important to the litigants as the most far-reaching constitutional issues. Many of these cases have been both worthwhile and fascinating.
Much of my criminal practice has civil aspects, such as forfeiture law or habeas corpus petitions; and I also have experience representing professionals facing disciplinary proceedings. I have also represented clients before administrative agencies on a variety of licensing issues.
I have represented doctors, lawyers, nurses, accountants, government employees, non-profit organizations, business owners, corporations, partnerships, and ordinary citizens.
I enjoy being a lawyer and I enjoy helping people to the best of my ability with whatever legal problems they may encounter. |
I have been practicing asset protection and bankruptcy law for over fifteen years. You have worked hard building your financial life and you owe it to yourself and your family to insure that your assets are protected within the law for your future use.
Bankruptcy can be a powerful tool in reorganizing your financial life and quickly regaining your financial health. Despite the 2005 change in the law, most people still qualify for Chapter 7 liquidation. For those who need to file Chapter 13, they are often able to repay significantly less they their total debts.
Asset protection involves more than bankruptcy. Forming a partnership or corporation can offer significant protections, as can properly titling real and personal property. Certain categories of assets may be exempt from creditor process and outside the bankruptcy estate. In the long run you may be able to protect your property by changing the form in which you hold your assets.
I am often able to help clients without filing bankruptcy and may be able to save your home by arranging a forebearance agreement with the lender.
