I am a person who loves his God, his family, and his country. The intention of this web page will be to present articles that will honor God and family and that will educate people in the principles of a just government.

• Madison on Property.....Property defined as it was understood during the founding era. Conscience the most sacred of all property. Government's duty is to protect person and property.

• Madison on Suffrage.....A much neglected republican principle that would guard against the leveling effect of democracy.

• Wilson on the Law of Nations.....The Law of Nations, as the law of nature, as the will of nature's God, it is binding on all people of every State. All free States adhere to the law of nations.

• James Otis on the Rule of Law.....The supreme power in a State belongs to God alone. All laws passed contrary to God's natural laws are void.

• Church and State.....On the issue of morality the Church and State support each other. The Church defines and teaches morality, but does not enforce it. The State enforces morality, but does not define or teach it.

• Noah Webster on Republican Principles.....God has the right to direct all the actions of the beings He has made. The Christian religion is the real source of all genuine republican principles.

• Blackstone on the Law of Nature.....Man must necessarily be subject to the laws of his Creator. This will of his Maker is called the law of nature. All human laws depend on the law of nature and the law of revelation which is found only in the Holy Scriptures. No human laws should contradict these.

• Vattel on the Law of Nations.....The law of nature as applied to the nations is no less obligatory than to individuals; because states are composed of men and the law of nature is obligatory to all men, under whatever relation they act.

• Junius Brutus on a defense of liberty against tyrants.....Kings cannot command what is repugnant to the law of God or in violation to their covenant with the people.

• Basic Principles of Christian Civil Government.....A nation is a collective being, with moral character and accountability, directly responsible to the Author of its existence, God Himself. (Outside link)

• Pennsylvania Declaration of Rights.....To guard against transgressions of the high powers which we have delegated, we declare that everything in this article is excepted out of the general powers of government and shall forever remain inviolate.(Section 25)

• Samuel Rutherford on the Right to Resist Tyrants.....Taken from Lex Rex (The Law is King), written in 1644. One of the most influential writings in the formulation of Protestant Political Theory. They (kings) are God's ministers for our good, but abused powers are not of God....the power of the king, abused to the destruction of laws, religion, and subjects, is a power contrary to law, evil, and tyrannical, and tyeth no man to subjection.

• Samuel West on the Right to Rebel Against Governors.....A sermon preached before the House of Representatives of Massachusetts in 1776. An excellent example of the Christian political theory that America was founded upon. The authority of a tyrant is of itself null and void; for no man can have a right to act contrary to the law of nature, it is impossible that any individual, or even the greatest number of men, can confer a right upon another of which they themselves are not possessed; i.e., no body of men can justly and lawfully authorize any person to tyrannize over and enslave his fellow-creatures...No man, therefore, can be a good member of the community that is not as zealous to oppose tyranny as he is ready to obey magistracy.
