Devil's Racetrack
To negotiate the Devil's Racetrack, part of the San Rafael Swell's riding areas, is to understand why it is named such. The Devil and all his minions had to work long days and nights to develop a racetrack so rugged and full of surprises that you have to strive hard to gain a grand ol' top speed of 10 mph for any length of time at all, probably about 30 seconds. With this small amount of exaggeration we proceed. While traversing this miserable real estate we pass at the feet of two tall and splendid rock spires known as "Twin Priests".

As we do, we ponder why the priests did not keep a better eye on that old Devil and make him pick out some of these rocks and boulders.
As we start out on this course, we glance back over our shoulders and see the grandeur of "Slipper Arch". As we gain elevation, we stop and look back at a rock formation affectionately known as "Joe and His Dog". To the north of us lies the famous Saddle Horse Canyon.

Several more miles puts us near the end of this demon runway and approximately 2 miles from scenic Interstate 70.
