Labyrinth

Marcie J. Judt

Enigma
 Twisted passages
 Winding corridors
 Awaiting exploration
 Fill the space
 Inside me

 Some dark
 Treacherous
 Even I
 Have not the courage
 To venture those halls
 How could you have?

 Some elaborately ornamented
Hiding the true color of the walls
The decorations are to deceive you
Perhaps they deceive me as well

 Some have open windows
 Allowing all to see
 The inhabitant
 Or rather
 Allowing all to see
 What the inhabitant
 Will have them see

 I am a labyrinth
 All halls are locked
 I caution
As I hand you the key
 Be wary
 Be gentle
