As I said, I am a born-again Christian. I am a member of a Southern
Baptist church, so I really don't
mind if you insist on labelling me a Baptist. But all I can really say is that
I am a Bible-believing follower of Jesus Christ. My standard of truth is a
simple one: If it isn't in God's Word, then it really needs to be looked at
closely. If there is no
way to reconcile what
a doctrine declares with what the Bible says, then that doctrine is false.
I'm not real big on man-made church traditions, though -- what I call
"church-ianity."
I know a lot of people who make a big deal out of what kind of music a church uses in its
services, how it takes up the offering, how people dress to go to church there, etc. I
don't think that stuff like that matters very much. I kinda figure that, if it's not
something that's clearly outlined in the Bible, you should just go with what makes you feel
comfortable.
