1. Mortten1 Watson was born Jessemince County, Kentucky Feb. 2, 1823. Mortten died May 26, 1910 Grayson County, Texas, at 87 years of age. His body was interred aft. May 26, 1910 Grayson County, Texas, Cherry Mound Cemetery.

He married Rachel C. Harris Preston, Texas, Aug. 15, 1847. Rachel was born April 8, 1831. Rachel died Feb. 29, 1908 Denison, Grayson County, Texas, at 76 years of age. Her body was interred aft. Feb. 29, 1908 Cherry Mound Community, Grayson County, Texas, Cherry Mound Cemetery. At 17 years of age Rachel became the mother of Newton Jasper Watson July 26, 1848. At 19 years of age Rachel became the mother of Paul Watson Oct. 26, 1850. At 21 years of age Rachel became the mother of Sally Anne Watson Feb. 3, 1853. At 23 years of age Rachel became the mother of Serilda Watson Jan. 21, 1855. At 25 years of age Rachel became the mother of Lafayett "Bud" Watson Oct. 2, 1856. At 27 years of age Rachel became the mother of Robbert Ripply Watson Aug. 3, 1858. At 28 years of age Rachel became the mother of William C. Watson Jan. 3, 1860. At 30 years of age Rachel became the mother of Morton Price Watson Denison, Grayson County, Texas, Feb. 4, 1862. At 32 years of age Rachel became the mother of Calvin Arthur Watson Jan. 8, 1864. At 35 years of age Rachel became the mother of Infant Watson 1866. At 36 years of age Rachel became the mother of Rachel Clintonia Watson Grayson County, Texas, Sept. 19, 1867. At 37 years of age Rachel became the mother of Matthew Watson March 24, 1869. At 39 years of age Rachel became the mother of Ida Sue Watson Cherry Mound, Grayson County, Texas, Dec. 12, 1870.

At 25 years of age Mortten became the father of Newton Jasper Watson July 26, 1848. At 27 years of age Mortten became the father of Paul Watson Oct. 26, 1850. At 30 years of age Mortten became the father of Sally Anne Watson Feb. 3, 1853. At 31 years of age Mortten became the father of Serilda Watson Jan. 21, 1855. At 33 years of age Mortten became the father of Lafayett "Bud" Watson Oct. 2, 1856. At 35 years of age Mortten became the father of Robbert Ripply Watson Aug. 3, 1858. At 36 years of age Mortten became the father of William C. Watson Jan. 3, 1860. At 39 years of age Mortten became the father of Morton Price Watson Denison, Grayson County, Texas, Feb. 4, 1862. At 40 years of age Mortten became the father of Calvin Arthur Watson Jan. 8, 1864. At 43 years of age Mortten became the father of Infant Watson 1866. At 44 years of age Mortten became the father of Rachel Clintonia Watson Grayson County, Texas, Sept. 19, 1867. At 46 years of age Mortten became the father of Matthew Watson March 24, 1869. At 47 years of age Mortten became the father of Ida Sue Watson Cherry Mound, Grayson County, Texas, Dec. 12, 1870.

Mortten Watson and Rachel C. Harris had the following children:

child 2 i. Newton Jasper2 Watson was born July 26, 1848. Newton died Sept. 7, 1862 at 14 years of age.

child 3 ii. Paul Watson was born Oct. 26, 1850. Paul died Feb. 10, 1857 at 6 years of age.

child 4 iii. Sally Anne Watson was born Feb. 3, 1853. Sally died Jan. 13, 1917 Denison, Grayson County, Texas, at 63 years of age. Her body was interred aft. Jan. 13, 1917 Denison, Grayson County, Texas, Cherry Mound Cemetery. She married twice. She married John Sommerville abt. 1870. John was born abt. 1850. John became the father of John Morton Sommerville Denison, Grayson County, Texas, abt. 1872. At 24 years of age John became the father of James L. Sommerville Texas, April 11, 1875. At 26 years of age John became the father of Maggie E. Sommerville Texas, Oct. 19, 1876. (See John Sommerville for the continuation of this line.) She married James T. Williams abt. 1877. James was born Feb. 17, 1840. James died March 28, 1900 Denison, Grayson County, Texas, at 60 years of age. His body was interred aft. March 28, 1900 Grayson County, Texas, Cherry Mound Cemetery. Sally became the mother of John Morton Sommerville Denison, Grayson County, Texas, abt. 1872. At 22 years of age Sally became the mother of James L. Sommerville Texas, April 11, 1875. At 23 years of age Sally became the mother of Maggie E. Sommerville Texas, Oct. 19, 1876. At 29 years of age Sally became the mother of Carrie L. Williams Jan. 28, 1883.

child 5 iv. Serilda Watson was born Jan. 21, 1855. Serilda died March 9, 1886 at 31 years of age. She married Unknown Williams. (See Unknown Williams for the continuation of this line.)

child + 6 v. Lafayett "Bud" Watson was born Oct. 2, 1856.

child 7 vi. Robbert Ripply Watson was born Aug. 3, 1858. Robbert died May 15, 1859 at less than one year of age.

child 8 vii. William C. Watson was born Jan. 3, 1860. William died May 15, 1861 at 1 year of age.

child + 9 viii. Morton Price Watson was born Feb. 4, 1862.

child 10 ix. Calvin Arthur Watson was born Jan. 8, 1864. Calvin died Aug. 6, 1870 at 6 years of age.

child 11 x. Infant Watson was born 1866. Infant died 1866 at less than one year of age.

child 12 xi. Rachel Clintonia Watson was born Grayson County, Texas Sept. 19, 1867. Rachel died Sept. 23, 1953 Grayson County, Texas, at 86 years of age. She married E. Millard Price Denison, Grayson County, Texas, abt. 1889. E. was born abt. 1868. E. died Feb. 19, 1901.

child 13 xii. Matthew Watson was born March 24, 1869. Matthew died June 3, 1870.

child 14 xiii. Ida Sue Watson was born Cherry Mound, Grayson County, Texas Dec. 12, 1870. Ida died Dec. 5, 1946 Grayson County, Texas, at 75 years of age. Her body was interred aft. Dec. 5, 1946 Grayson County, Texas, Cherry Mound Cemetery. She married Lee Jackson Ramsey. Lee was born Grayson County, Texas Jan. 7, 1862. Lee was the son of Thomas F. Ramsey and Judith Witcher. Lee died May 15, 1939 Grayson County, Texas, at 77 years of age. His body was interred aft. May 15, 1939 Grayson County, Texas, Cherry Mound Cemetery.
