He married Lona Mary Pool Marshall County, Oklahoma, Feb. 9, 1924. Lona was born Kemp, Panola, I.T., Oklahoma Feb. 11, 1900. Lona was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow Pool and Cordelia Crisp. Lona died Feb. 3, 1925 at 24 years of age.

William R. Maxwell and Lona Mary Pool had the following child:
