1. Robert McFarland¹ Kennedy was born Newville, Cumberland County, Pensylvania May 31, 1830.

He married Sarah Jane Thompson. Sarah was born Indiana May 18, 1838. Sarah was the daughter of John Scruggs Thompson and Sarah Peoples. Sarah died Aug. 18, 1907 Colorado Springs, Colorado, at 69 years of age. At 21 years of age Sarah became the mother of Sarah Ellen Kennedy Whiteside County, Illinois, Nov. 19, 1859.

At 29 years of age Robert became the father of Sarah Ellen Kennedy Whiteside County, Illinois, Nov. 19, 1859.

Robert McFarland Kennedy and Sarah Jane Thompson had the following child:

2 i. Sarah Ellen² Kennedy was born Whiteside County, Illinois Nov. 19, 1859. Sarah died May 29, 1953 Kansas, at 93 years of age. She married Columbus Pool Holton, Jackson County, Kansas, Nov. 26, 1885. Columbus was born Abingdon, Knox County, Illinois Aug. 8, 1865. Columbus was the son of John Hartford Pool and Elizabeth Eliza Morris. Columbus died Feb. 2, 1945 at 79 years of age.
