1. Layton¹ Cunningham was born Milford, Otsego County, New York Jan. 18, 1764. Layton died March 23, 1839 Lancaster, Erie County, New York, at 75 years of age.

He married Phebe Way Litchfield, Litchfield County, Connecticut, Jan. 18, 1789. Phebe was born Litchfield, Litchfield County, Connecticut June 17, 1768. Phebe was the daughter of Samuel Way and Sarah Lewis. Phebe died March 7, 1852 Lancaster, Erie County, New York, at 83 years of age. At 26 years of age Phebe became the mother of Joel Cunningham Hoosick, Rennsaelar County, New York, June 26, 1794.

At 30 years of age Layton became the father of Joel Cunningham Hoosick, Rennsaelar County, New York, June 26, 1794.

Layton Cunningham and Phebe Way had the following child:
