1. David Carter¹ Butler was born April 3, 1884. David died Jan. 1973 Chicago, Illinois, at 88 years of age.

He married Virginia "Virgie" Hortense Newkirk abt. 1916. Virginia was born Abingdon, Knox County, Illinois Sept. 10, 1898. Virginia was the daughter of Stonewall Jackson Newkirk and Myrtle Louella Nelson. Virginia died Dec. 22, 1972 Hollywood, California, at 74 years of age. Her body was interred aft. Dec. 22, 1972 Shawnee County, Kansas, Mount Hope Cemetery. At 19 years of age Virginia became the mother of Carter D. Butler March 19, 1918. At 22 years of age Virginia became the mother of Donald Jackson Butler Norton, Kansas, July 7, 1921. At 25 years of age Virginia became the mother of Roberta Beth Butler Nebraska, 1924.

At 33 years of age David became the father of Carter D. Butler March 19, 1918. At 37 years of age David became the father of Donald Jackson Butler Norton, Kansas, July 7, 1921. At 40 years of age David became the father of Roberta Beth Butler Nebraska, 1924.

David Carter Butler and Virginia "Virgie" Hortense Newkirk had the following children:

2 i. Carter D.² Butler was born March 19, 1918. Carter died Sept. 14, 1968 San Francisco, California, at 50 years of age. He married Jane Unknown.

3 ii. Donald Jackson Butler was born Norton, Kansas July 7, 1921. Donald died Dec. 20, 1985 Ventura County, California, at 64 years of age.

4 iii. Roberta Beth Butler was born Nebraska 1924. She married William R. Williams Topeka, Kansas, Aug. 1, 1947. (Additional notes for William R. Williams⁽⁴⁶⁾)
