Home on the Net

susy

My name is Susy and as you can see I am a greyhound. Four years ago I was adopted by my "Dad" and "Mom" and went to live in eastern Oregon.

Me guarding (?) some of "Moms" beanie babies!

My family also consists of Lucy, who is my sister with the 150 pound attitude even though she is little. Also, three cats, who I like to rub up against and love.

Lucy, the Boss!

My life is much different now. I used to be what they called a racing dog but I knew someplace, somewhere was a couch, so finally because I wasn't to fast they sent me to Greyhound Pets of America, a sort of doggy orphangage, until I was adopted.

Mom says more people should adopt dogs like me. We have so much love to give and she says, we are so special.

adopt me

For anyone wanting to know more about adopting us or imformation on greyhounds there are some great place on the net.

One home of two greyhounds are my neighbors who have a home page at geocities too. Their homepage is titled, "A Tail of Two Greyhounds."

I am so excited, I have two new net friends from Canada, Pharah and Zoe.

Another friend of ours has a cool site to send greyhound postcards at:

Lessons Learned From Dog Watching

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Run, romp and play daily.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout... run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
