What you may ask, is a pygora goat? Well, it's
a cross of a pygmy goat and an angora goat. So you get
the small size and hopefully personality of the pygmy and
the wool of the angora. We have raised a few grade pygoras
and I love them. You just have to brush them when they are
shedding-if you get the right kind of wool and they shed
. To learn more about the types of wool Check this
site.
They normally shed twice a year, in the spring to lose their
winter coat and at the end of summer to lose their summer
coat. The wool can be of different types. To learn more
about pygoras, check out this site.
We moved and I had to sell my pygoras (boo hoo)! They are out of registered stock, but the
guy who had the angora buck failed to tell me that he was unable to get the registration papers from the
person he had bought the buck from, so they are just grade animals.
Princess Leah
consistently gave us twins. I milked her-she was a real sweetheart.
Rapunzel is one of this
years twins, sold the wether. She was bottle raised and is VERY tame!
Dusty was our buck. He was
hand raised, but had gotten spooky with lack of handling.
