July 4, celebrated in the United States to
commemorate the adoption in 1776 of the
Declaration of Independence.  Also called
Fourth of July.
 
FYI
Both Thomas Jefferson and Adams,
who had played such great parts in the winning of
Independence, died on Independence Day, July 4, 1826.

Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag. When we view the
flag, we think of liberty, freedom, pride,  and Betsy Ross.

The Liberty Bell chime changed the world on July 8, 1776.
The Liberty Bell rang out from the tower of Independence
Hall summoning citizens to hear the first public reading of
the Declaration of Independence by Colonel John Nixon.

The Pledge of Allegiance

 I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States
of America, and to the Republic for which it stands.
One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all.


Real Independence can only be found in
our Lord Jesus Christ.  Try Him for a
better world - better life.  He died on the
cross to give us independence from the
devil, from sin.  In Him is found
REAL INDEPENDENCE!


July 4th is also celebrated with lots of
fireworks and great bar-b-q's.


SOUTHWESTERN RIBS

4-6 lbs. ribs in uncut racks
1 teaspoon liquid smoke, if you can find it
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 - 3 tablespoons ground chilli
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
5 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1+ 3/4 cup ketchup
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Place ingredients (except ribs) in a saucepan
and simmer. Brush on ribs.
 


Hickory Smoked Hamburgers

To one pound of lean ground beef add:
    1 tsp worcestershire sauce or more to taste
    a good sprinkling of salt and pepper
    about 4 Tbsp of minced onion
    a sprinkle of garlic powder
