Welcome To My Cat Album
a.k.a. My Brag Page

These are my cat "kids." If you don't think they're not spoiled, they have kitty buffet and airconditioning complete with a recliner and a wide screen view of the neighborhood. Shown here (top to bottom) are Copper, Amber-Macy, Dusty-Miller, and Skittles. All of them are neutered. When not in their room reclining they are running and ruining the house. I never realized how cats displayed such individual and human behavior until I was blessed with more than one!

Dusty-Miller is what we call a "no deposit, no return." He was dropped off at an empty vacation home and was starving to death when we found him. When the vet checked him out he said he was already a year old even though he was the size of a 3 month old kitten! The first time we gave him a bath to remove the fleas was the last time. His docile loving nature did a Dr. Jekell/Mr. Hyde metamorphosis. We can only speculate that someone tried to drown him previously. Thank the Lord for Advantage! Now, Dusty is a beautiful frosty gray/silver cat with green eyes. He is very loving and affectionate - I am so glad we were blessed with him.

Now this is the newest member of our household. Skittles. A bundle of wonder. It is more fun to watch him just being a kitten than it is to watch television. I never get tired of his kitten antics. Skittles is another gift from an un-neutered cat. We found him on a busy highway and just managed to grab him before he became road kill. He was so brave at 6 weeks old when he came into our household already blessed with 3 cats and a bossy dog (see "Foxxy's Page"). He put on a brave front by bowing up and hissing at everything and everyone. Now he just does it in kitten play. It's nothing to try to walk across a room with him attached to your ankle like an appendage.

Amber-Macy came into our home via my husband's mid-life crisis. We had just lost our 17 year old cat, Jade, from acute kidney failure. Our other cat, Bandit, missed her and cried day and night. My husband's idea was to just go look at Maine Coon kittens and we did and he bought. Money had exchanged hands before I even knew it. I'm not particularly fond of red cats (sorry, Morris fans!) and therefore it took me a while to get use to her. She was very wild to have come from a breeder and was NOT sweet and affectionate.
She and I finally came to an understanding..."don't touch me and I won't scratch you!" You got it sis! As you can see she grew into a big cat. And yes she is loving in her own way and we are very fond of each other. Unfortunately, she can't stand my husband.

This is Copper (left of Dusty). She was found in the country at a dumpster site where she had been abandoned. Many people in the country think that bringing an animal to a dump will insure them food or a chance of being picked up. WRONG!!! All it insures them of is...being eaten or killed by wild animals; used for target practice; starving to death; or freezing to death in the winter. There is no telling how many people had passed her up before my husband found her. The night Copper was brought to our home, the temperatures dropped into the 20's. She would never have made it. She was so weak from hunger that she was lethargic. My husband said the look in her eye was, "It doesn't matter anymore...you're just another disappointment." Copper's nickname is "Coppy-Cat" as she mimics most of what Dusty does as you can see in this photo.

Well, this is all I have for now. I will be adding more or changing out photos as time goes by. Thank you for your patience and for sharing my "brag page" with me.
