From the Desk of Your Pastor:
God is so good. It was so wonderful to share with our children this morning
during Children’s Church how God loves them (and us) and that He is good. I hope you remember how to express that in
sign language with your hands. It is
such a special joy for me to share with your children as their pastor how much
God is pleased with them and for them through your faith and obedience. We have much to be thankful for to the Lord
in how He has poured out His Spirit upon our church and hearts over these past
months – and years.
God is continuing to be faithful in
calling His workers together to do the work He has prepared in advance for us
to do and to get ready for the coming harvest within our community. It is my prayer that we will continue to
experience this season of revival in our midst and that we will allow the Lord
to stir our hearts for the needs of those who are lost and who are in bondage
in our families and community. It has
been a joy to share in the lives of all that God has stirred to become a part
of our community of faith seeking to fulfill the Great Commandment and
Commission.
Please be sure to reach out and give
another special greeting of love and thanks to those who have joined our church
over the last month – and the many others who have joined since this time last
year as we were preparing for our 200th Anniversary. These include Clint and Lucy Akers, Oneta
Curd, Gary, Sue and Ethan Curd, Clint and Daniel Cox, Robert (Bobby), Kathy,
and Katie Hall, Ricky, Derrick, and Dillan Poor, and Shirley Poor (all of who
moved their letter from a Baptist church of like faith to ours). Please make sure you also greet Clint’s
wife, Missy, and his two daughters, Nicki and Keely, Bobby and Kathy Hall’s
daughters, Robin and Ashley, and Steve and Vicky Cox’s son, Dalton. I know that I could not have asked for a
greater gift from the Lord in celebrating this special 200th year of
faithfulness at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church than to see His Spirit continue to
pour out in our hearts in such a way that glorifies His Name.
Wow, like I said at the beginning, God is
so good, His love is something to treasure for it is greater than anything this
world could ever offer to us. Let us
rejoice and give thanks to the Lord for all that He has done and is doing in
our lives. Let us walk in the power of
His Holy Spirit and bring glory to the Name of Jesus Christ as His servants and
church in the midst of our families, friends, and community. I want to say a special thanks to all who
have prayed so earnestly and steadfastly for this outpouring of revival in our
church and for the hard work of faith demonstrated by your obedience to the
Lord. Thank you for your faithfulness
in teaching the Word of God to our children, young people and adults. Thank you for giving of your time and monies
to support this ongoing work. Thank you
for the way you share your gifts and talents with our church – all of these
works of faiths are vital to the growth of the body of Christ.
Please get your hearts and minds prepared
for the days ahead for our church. God
is preparing us for the harvest and the work of discipleship of all that He
will lead to us. My prayer is that we
will celebrate being a community church for all that God brings to our
church. Get ready for Homecoming 2002 –
August 25th is coming.
