Lordy, Lordy! Look who's Forty! |

We had a 70's Party for Mike's Birthday, and a few people
actually dressed like they did in the 70's! (What were we thinking back then?) |

Halloween
1996, as Elvira and Count Druncula! |

 | Meg and
Mike at Christmas, 1989. I made this dress just for the occasion. I found the
same print material at Joske's department store a week later - as a Christmas
tablecloth! That dress was known from then on as my "Tablecloth Dress!"

 | Here is the
graduating class in Civil Engineering from University of Texas-Arlington, December 13,
1997. From left: Dave, Rob, Julie, Matt, Meg, Adam, Michael, and Neill. A few
classmates didn't make it into the picture. The purple stoles symbolize members of
Chi Epsilon, the national Civil Engineering Honor Society. The white collars
embroidered with a gold key symbolize members of Tau Beta Pi, the national Engineering
Honor Society. The green cords symbolize those who took the Fundamentals of
Engineering Exam (the first of two 8-hour exams necessary to earn a license as a
Professional Engineer. If ya don't take the exams, ya don't get a license, and ya
aren't a Professional Engineer!) The multi-colored cords belong to those smart guys
(like Michael and Matt) who graduated at least Cum Laude (With Honors!) By the way,
did any of you guys get a better version of this picture? If you did, please send me a copy, okay? The original isn't a
whole lot better than this pixelized version!

After the
graduation ceremony, our family went to our favorite Italian restaurant. Because that day
was also the 10th anniversary of our first date, I read Mike a love
letter. By the time I finished reading it, I was so close to crying, I could
barely read!

first house in 1998.
