"BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SAVED . . ."
(Acts 16:31)
These ten words can change your life -- right now!  It's all you need to receive eternal life.  And it doesn't matter who you are, where you are, or what you may have done.  Let's take a closer look at what they are saying.

"BELIEVE . . ."    To believe in something means to acknowledge, to trust, to take stock in, to rely on, accept.  This last definition is particularly important.  For the Bible is clear that we are saved not by what we do or say but by faith.  The Apostle Paul says it like this:

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast." (Eph 2:8)

". . . in the Lord Jesus . . ."    These words tell us in whom we are to believe.  People "believe" in a great many things: i.e. life, our home, our car, our money, the government, the value of education, and many more.  None of these, however, can save us.     Salvation only comes through the Lord Jesus Christ -- nothing nor no one else will do!  The Bible sets this issue to rest when it says:

"For I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

". . . and you will be saved . . ."    The question of salvation is put to rest in Jesus Christ.  There is NO doubt about it, you are ABSOLUTELY saved when you believe in Christ.  Period!  It's a guarantee!  It's a fact!  It's for sure.  You need not worry about it.  You need not doubt it -- although many do.  You need be afraid.  When you place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ you WILL BE SAVED (not maybe)!  The Bible also adds:

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Q: What Will I Be Saved From?
SIN!     Sin is more than something we do.  Sin is our willful disobedience to God.  And it doesn't matter how good a person we think we may be, EVERYONE, no matter who you are, HAS SINNED against God.  Again, the Bible addresses this issue for us:

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God." (Roman 3:23)

Worst of all, we must, and someday will be, punished for our sins.  Death is something WE ALL experience.  And the reason for death is sin . . .

"The wages of sin is death . . ." (Roman 6:23)

Q: But won't God understand that I tried?
No!  Society often tries to make us think everyone will be saved, or that God will "give us a break" if we work hard enough, but the testimony of scripture is clear -- NO ONE will be without excuse!

"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities -- his eternal power and divine nature -- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." (Romans 1:18-20 emphasis added)

Q: What do I do?
This question is fairly common at this point.  Fortunately, God realizes our desperate condition and offers to forgive us for ALL the wrong, all the sin, we have ever committed.  And He does this for no other reason than He loves us . . .

"For God so loved the world that He gave us his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
It's no wonder that verse is often seen at sporting events, on billboards, and under people's signature.  John 3:16 is perhaps the most important message in all the world!  God Loves YOU!!

You've just read the most important message in the world, about the most important person who ever lived, with the greatest offer ever made. This brings us with one VERY important question . . .

Q: Would YOU like to receive the free gift of eternal life?
