Vintage and Mod

I have only recently gotten into vintage and mod Barbie.  In fact, if it hadn't been for my good friend, Charlotte, I may never have developed this interest at all.  For now, my vintage collection is very, very small, but I am slowly but surely acquiring those pieces that I would love to have.  Financial constraints prevent me from purchasing mint pieces, but the good news is I've had some instruction in restoration techniques, which allows me to fix up dolls that are in less-than-pristine condition.  I'm still learning, but I'm enjoying the results already.

I wouldn't be anywhere in my vintage collection without several valuable resources.  First, I have two books by Sarah Sink Eames, Barbie Doll Fashion Volumes 1 & 2 that detail all the outfits and accessories Barbie and her friends and family have worn over the years.  In addition, I am particularly fond of the mod era, and have Joe Blitman's books, Barbie and Her Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod World of Fashion, and of course Francie and Her Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod World of Fashion.  Without these resources I'd be lost.  In addition to these books, I am a member of the Vintage Vinyl Vixen email group, with very knowledgeable and friendly folks.
