Northwest Regional
Title IX: Indian Education Program

Serving Four Counties in Northwestern Oregon:
Clatsop, Tillamook, Columbia and Washington
This Program provides students of Native American descent, preschool through 12th grade, and their families with educational and cultural support.
Title IX is a federally funded program designed to reinforce Native American identity and increase student knowledge and appreciation of tribal histories ad cultures. At the high school level, there is also a strong focus on information and activities to assist Native American students in career planning and the pursuit of higher education. Students may also participate in Native American youth conferences and other gathering.

The program is open to all Native American families with children in preschool through grade 12, in which the child or his/her parent or grandparent is of Native American descent, including Alaska Natives. Parents and other family members are actively involved in the program. The Parent Committees meet periodically tohelp plan activities for students, as well as worksohops for parents and teachers. Representatives of the Parent Committees also meet with other Indian Education organizations throughout the state. Regular newsletters and notices help keep everyone informed of upcoming events.
Because our Program covers such a large area we have divided the monthly Parent Committee and Culture Club Meetings into three seperate areas (you may attend any or all meetings):

Tillamook and Clatsop Counties share their monthly meeting
(alternating between the two counties)

Washington County and Columbia County
