A FRIEND

A friend is one who listens to your sorrows and your woes.
He comforts you in the best way he knows.

He rejoices when you have good luck.
Your troubles, into his heart he'll tuck.

He rejoices with you when you are glad.
And he grieves with you when you are sad.

When you walk with him and would not talk,
He says no word, he's content to walk.

He wants to help you in every way,
And he'll listen to you night or day.

He shares alike your joys and sorrows,
He's the same today and tomorrow.

He on whom you can ever depend,
In more than a name, is he a friend.
