Tacloban City (January 5) -- Virtually unknown to many, the Province of Biliran has an additional tourism attraction which it can proudly offer to any potential visitor, both foreign and local.

This is the Maripipi Napo Beach Resort which as the name connotes is found in the island municipality of Maripipi, one of the eight municipalities of Biliran. Located on the Beach Front, the Maripipi Napo Beach Resort boasts of a private jetty and two swimming pools.

This perfect hideaway is owned by a homecoming lass Emelita together with her Swiss husband JD Robert. Emmy, who was at PIA 8 before the inauguration of the Resort on the later part of December 2005, said that she has been to so many beautiful places in the world but she decided to invest in Maripipi because of its natural beauty and solitude which is sought for by many visitors. It is a hideaway which is far from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

This is also her way of helping her hometown to be known internationally, Mrs. Robert intimated. It is a very beautiful and scenic place endowed with bounties of nature but it is not being developed, she added.

She said even her husband fell in love with the place the moment he saw it. The place is ideal for snorkeling with plenty of beautiful untouched corals to behold and wonder about. It is an ideal place for picnics and fishing excursions via boat which is available at the resort.

About one and a half hours by boat from the capital town of Naval, Maripipi Beach Resort may also be reached via Calbayog taking a two-hour boat. The Resort has ten double bedrooms, five of which have ensuites, the others have shared facilities. An onsite restaurant is available to ensure that the gastronomic requirements of the guests are attended to. Sing-along facilities are available for visitors who like the locals are fond of music.
