When I got to High School people again were saying the same things "your too small", "your gonna get hurt", "You can't play running back", "You don't think your really gonna start do you?" Well guess what I played, I started, I played running back, I didn't get hurt, I was an All Star and I lead the league in Touch Downs! Boy those were the days.
I went on to play University Football, where again people were saying the same things, this time they may have been right, but didn't stop me. I toughed it out for four seasons as a running back, receiver and punt & kick off returner.
One thing I have to say to all those undersized football players out there is don't worry what other people say, little guys can play football, just believe in yourself. Usually it's not your size that counts but the size of your heart!
The above picture was taken back in the fall of 1994 when I played High School Football for the Sir James Dunn Eagles. By winning this game 41-19 vs. the West Ferris Trojans of North Bay we became the back to back Northern Ontario Champions. We were a very succesfull team. As a member of the team we went undefeated for my final three years of High School.
After High School I went on to for the University of Windsor Lancers, (see pics below). It wasn't easy playing at my size at the Collegiate Level, but i'm still glad I played.
Now that I've graduate University and I work fulltime, I still try to find time to play anywhere I can. I played part-time for the Sault Storm in 2001. They had me playing mostly Defensive Back and some Running Back. I also play in a indoor touch league in the winter and outdoor flag and touch leagues the rest of the year.
