Lichfield Nomads Cricket Club is
based in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England and was formed in 1982 by
a bunch of CAMRA members, many of whom still play or have
associations with the club. |
We are an active club from a
fixtures point of view but we do place a lot of emphasis on the
social side as well. With regular social trips, pub crawls, curries,
trips to the Test Match etc.. |
We do not have our own ground,
hence the reason we only play friendlies. We rent the use of Holland
Sports Club at Barton under Needwood for our home games, which is an
excellent facility with artificial wicket, changing rooms, bar, teas
etc.. |
We try to arrange a tour every
year. We have been to Belgium four times. With trips to Sussex,
Cotswolds,Wales and Lincolnshire in the past. |
Most of the teams we play are
league sides and we compete well with most 2nd/3rd teams. In 2002 we
won the Stewart Ellison Memorial Trophy. We occasionally enter the
Lichfield Mercury cup. |
New members are welcome. Come
along to one of our games or in the winter our Thursday evening nets
at 8pm at the Friary Grange sports centre to check us out. |
If you would like more
information. Feel free to
email any questions to
us. |
