Bernd is still the coach in Getafe. He have recieved some offers but he prefers to continue the good job in Madrid and the team is nowadays near the UEFA options.
Remember his career as a trainer:
1997-98 FORTUNA COLOGNE (2Liga Germany) Good games and good season to start. The team finishes 6 in the standings, the best season in the last year and one of the best in the hisotry of the little club.
1998-99 FC COLOGNE (2Liga Germany) He comes to his old team thinking with his heart instead of his head. Cologne was just relegated into the 2 Liga. The players are affected and the season is irregular He cannot get the promotion to Bundesliga.
2001-2003 XEREZ (2Liga Spain) Both season near to the promotion places. Excelent games with unknown players. Until today, the 2 better seasons of the Andalusian team in its history.
2003-04 SHAKHTAR DONETSK (1 Liga Ukraine) Mad for the Champions League, Bernd is sick and tyred to wait for a good offer from Spain. The 'miners' began with record marks but in the final segment Dinamo Kiev catches Shakhtar and the team demoralizes. The president sacked Bernd before the Cup final game to get a team reaction. The team wins the Cup. In the Champions League, the players plays really better than the rivals, but they cannot promote into the final tournement.
2004-05 LEVANTE (1 League Spain) The 'granota' team hired him as the big bet, but president Villarroel is the big especialist to add mistrust coach afer coach. The fist half of the championship is spectacular... but the players are mishearten for a pair of bad results and the bad environment of the club chefs... The president, nervious, sacked him when the team went 16th and have 5 points of advantage over the promotion, missing 5 games for the end. The team relegates into 2 liga! However, until today it is the best season of Levante in its history.
2005-07 GETAFE(1 Div Spain) The president trusts in Bernd, a young and hungry trainer for his young and hungry team. He offers also a peaceful environment to work in. The first season is espectacular , beating all records and rushing the chance to go to the UEFA competition. It was the best season in the history of Getafe and now Bernd wants to beat its own record.
